Within the framework of the Beat & Frame Music Video Creative Competition, the Faculty of Arts – Van Hien University organized a presentation, screening, and evaluation session for music video projects produced by students of the Film and Television major. The program is a representative academic activity that concretizes the university’s training orientation toward integrating theory, artistic creativity, and professional practice.

At the presentation session, student teams sequentially introduced their project development process, from creative concepts and scriptwriting to the selection of visual language, frame composition, and solutions for cinematography, editing, art direction, makeup, costume design, and on-camera performance. Each music video not only showcased the individual creative imprint of the production team but also reflected their ability to apply professional knowledge acquired throughout their academic training.

The evaluation panel, comprising lecturers, directors, filmmakers, and experts in film, television, and music, directly observed, analyzed, and provided feedback grounded in both academic and practical perspectives. The critical discussions focused on the following aspects:
The logic and effectiveness of narrative structure
Cinematic language and visual rhythm in music videos
The integration of music and imagery
Emotional expression and artistic message delivery
The level of alignment with professional production workflows

Through this exchange, students had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with industry professionals, while developing presentation skills, critical thinking, and the ability to receive and process professional feedback in a systematic manner. This process plays an essential role in helping students identify the strengths and limitations of their work, thereby refining their professional mindset and shaping their personal development paths within the creative industries.

Beat & Frame is not merely a creative playground, but an open academic space where educational activities are closely linked to real-world practices in contemporary film, television, and music production. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Arts – Van Hien University continues to affirm its applied training orientation, learner-centered approach, and strong emphasis on experiential learning and adaptability to the evolving demands of the creative labor market.

The artistic council participating in the evaluation of Beat & Frame projects brought together a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including film and television directors, filmmakers, representatives from film studios, cinematographers, makeup and costume specialists, as well as professional artists and singers active in the music and performance industry.
The involvement of this interdisciplinary panel not only ensured objectivity and multidimensional assessment, but also enabled students to gain firsthand exposure to real-world professional standards within today’s creative market. Through in-depth critiques and analysis, the panel examined each music video from multiple perspectives—ranging from cinematic language, visual techniques, and aesthetic design to performance elements, musical style, and the potential for development within professional production environments.

This program also provided Film and Television students with valuable opportunities to listen directly to industry experiences, stay updated on contemporary creative trends, and develop a clearer understanding of interdisciplinary requirements in music video production—an integrated art form that demands close collaboration among film, music, and performance disciplines.
